Empties | January 2014

As I wait patiently for this months beauty boxes to arrive I thought I’d let you know what products I have used up in the month of January.

January Empties 2014From the top row:

January Empties part a

Champney’s Citrus Glow Moisturising Body Butter, 200ml

A vitamin-rich moisturising blend of four butters; shea, olive, cocoa and mango.

This formed part of a Christmas bumper gift set from Sainsbury’s and I believe was the final item I had left from the set. I prefer The Body Shop body butters compared to this but if you find The Body Shop one too heavy then this is a lighter alternative.

Caudalie Nourishing Body Lotion, 7ml

I got this from my first Latest In Beauty haul and is for anyone looking for a nourishing and anti-oxidant treatment for the body. I received two samples, which was enough for 3 applications. I didn’t have any preconceived ideas when I used this but OMG this lotion is amazing! My skin just drank it up and left my body hydrated, moisturised with a soft scent.  The full size 250ml costs £20, although a bit on the pricey side I wouldn’t mind using this again!

Melvita Fresh Moisturising Body Milk, 30ml

I received this from my Beauteco box (now Love Me Beauty) and liked that fact this is an organic certified product. This rose scented lotion was light and not very moisturising (found it a bit watery), not something I would repurchase I’m afraid but happy to try something else from the brand.

Cowshed Extra Firming Body Butter, 50ml

I received this from my YOU Beauty Discovery box and is my first product from this brand. This firming body butter is meant to target cellulite, stimulate, tone the skin and help break down toxins. I personally found the scent off putting, as it had a ‘bark’ smell to it. Due to this I just applied it to the bottom half of my body and used the Melvita on the top half to counterbalance the scent. As for its firming properties, I can’t say I noticed any difference on my skin. Although I didn’t get along with this product, I do look forward to trying out other products from the Cowshed brand.

From the bottom row:

Michell and Peach English Growers Shower Wash, 50ml

I received this from my Love Me Beauty box and is a UK brand based at a farm in Kent. This shower gel is fragranced with pure essential oils and found it had a subtle delicate scent. Perfect for those who do not like those heavily scented body washes. The full size 250ml costs £20 and is unisex. I wouldn’t mind receiving this again in a beauty box.

L’Occitane Essential Water Face, 30ml

This alcohol free toner is enriched with Immortelle floral water and anti-oxidizing green tea extract. I got this as part of a free gift set when I purchased a L’Occitane perfume and have had it in my stash for a while now.  But what a beauty discovery, as I’ve absolutely loved using it and am quite sad that its now finished. It worked well when using my REN skincare, it didn’t break me out, it had a wonderful uplifting fragrance when sprayed on my cotton pad. I just love it! The full size 200ml cost £18 and is definitely something I would repurchase.

Noble Isle Willow Song Bath & Shower Gel, 75ml

Another item from my YOU Beauty Discovery beauty box. This again was a new beauty discovery and have to say was my favourite shower gel of 2013.  This stuff is amazing, it smells gorgeous like something you’ve never smelt before. This scent does linger on your skin all day and well into the evening as when I change out of my work clothes I can still smell it. As for repurchasing, you guessed right I already have and even gone for other fragrances to try from the brand. Plus I also received a gift set for Christmas containing the shower gel, candle and body cream.  I am super happy that I get to enjoy this for a bit longer (at this rate well into the end of the year)!

Molton Brown Ultra Smooth Coco De Mer Body Lotion, 30ml

When I was away for a weekend I forgot to pack my regular moisturiser but alias in true Chanel style I had this back up in my bag and what a find! As you well know I do enjoy using shower gels from Molton Brown but I haven’t really delved into there lotions. I was super surprised at how moisturising this lotion was and how Coco De Mer appears to compliment other Molton Brown fragrances. I already have another one of these in my stash and look forward to using it again.

L’Occitane Shea Dry Skin Hand Cream, 10ml

L’Occitane is one of my favourite brands and especially for its hand cream. This original item has 20% shea in it and is super moisturising for the hands.  I normally go for the scented hand creams but was great to use this original formula. This is perfect if you use a keyboard as its non greasy, so once applied your good to go and type away. I already have a few in my stash but would repurchase when my stockpile gets low.

That concludes my empties for the month, I’m happy to see some items from the beauty boxes used up!

Have you used any of these products? I would to hear your thoughts.
